Summer lunch & Goodbye to Maria
It’s time to say goodbye. Our President, Maria del Carmen Fischer, will be leaving Georgia at the end of the month. To mark the occasion, the IWA Georgia community held a farewell summer lunch on 12 June. It was an incredibly lovely celebration that will remain in our memories – and Maria’s – for a long time to come. Not least because many of the ladies were dressed in 1930s-style outfits to mark the 30th anniversary of IWA Georgia. We presented Maria with an artistically crafted Georgian icon as a farewell gift. A particular highlight was the performance by our IWA choir, who sang a farewell song written especially for Maria. But it is not only Maria who is leaving us; several other dedicated members are also moving on. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your commitment, the wonderful camaraderie and your friendship. We wish you all the very best for the future, a good start in your new homes, and please don’t forget us! We will miss you!
