Donations to Armenian refugees in honour of Anush Klimczyk

IWA Georgia made a donation in memory of Anush Klimczyk, our long-standing and dear member who passed away in August 2023.

Anush was a dedicated member of IWAG for 15 years, during which she served on several committees.

Her most recent role was with the Charity Project Committee. Throughout her time with IWAG, she supported people in need in Georgia not only through CPC initiatives but also through her personal contributions and commitment.

In honor of her Armenian heritage, we chose to allocate 7,000 GEL to support Armenian refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh who have relocated to Spitak and Armavir in northern and western Armenia. These funds were raised during the Winter Fair 2023 through the IWAG table and Tombola.

In coordination with the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, H.E. Mr. Ashot Smbatyan, four specially designed heating stoves were provided to families who have permanently settled in Spitak. In addition, six families in Armavir received financial assistance to help cover essential daily needs such as clothing and heating.

Many of these families intend to remain in the region and, with the support of NGOs, are working toward establishing sustainable livelihoods through activities such as baklava production and beekeeping.
