The Georgian Society of Clinical Oncology carries out educational and scientific studies and activities as well as provides support and advocacy for oncological (cancer) patients. IWA had the opportunity to fund one project of support to such patients and their family members.
Six patients were trained and provided with equipment and materials to sew reusable face masks. Together, they produced 3,000 masks that together with information material especially directed to oncological patients were distributed throughout different regions in Georgia (Zugdidi, Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Kazbegi, Sagarejo, Lanchkhuti-Chokhatauri).
