Kharagauli region is not a wealthy area. Many children live in difficult social conditions and kindergartens don’t have the educational resources they need for the children. With a total budget of GEL 3,000, IWA funded the purchase of educational material for the 21 kindergartens in Kharagauli. The initiator of this project was Kharagauli Educational Resource-center which belongs to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and supervises, supports, and gives advice to public schools and pre-school institutions.
As a focus project under the current IWA motto “Education and learning for a better future”, the kindergartens received pedagogical products like puzzles, board games, cards with numbers/alphabet and small magnetic boards. The aim of the project was to contribute to improving the quality of preschool education. This investment gives teachers the opportunity to tailor the educational process more to the needs of children. Also, the directors told us that they were convinced that the children would be very happy when they see these colourful games.
