IWA Georgia CPC 2026 Projects to Date

Georgian Portage Association (2800 GEL, organization) – This organization helps children with special needs to become fully entitled members of society and receive their rights to an education. CPC funded play equipment as well as sofa and kitchen equipment for older kids. We provided wheelchairs in 2024.

D. C. (5100 GEL, individual) – Daniel is four years old and suffers from spastic diplegia. He was born premature. CPC funding paid for badly needed physical therapy.  CPC’s Tina Beruchashvili in regular contact with mother.

G. M. (1086 GEL, individual) – This orphaned teenage boy from Abkhazia, now living in Gori, had a headache and fainted. CPC funded his diagnostic treatments that were needed before the government would pay for an MRI.

D. S. (7000 GEL, individual) – This child has Acute Myeloid Leukemia and CPC approved a special medication – Xospata – that he needed until he can get a bone marrow transplant.  

S. P. ($2,500, individual) – Suffers from a rare and complex cancer.  CPC helped finance advanced imaging essential for proper follow-up and early detection of any recurrence or new condition.

D. G. (4100 GEL, individual) – Child who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy – type 1.  CPC helped finance physical therapy.

Khataap M. (7000 GEL, individual) – Three-year-old child has suffered from birth from a rare condition and needs a $90,000 bone marrow transplant abroad.  CPC helped pay for diagnostic tests and stabilizing treatments as he was suffering from a persistent high fever. N. M. ($1000, individual) – She has a rare form of cancer that requires stem-cell therapy in Turkey.  CPC has agreed to finance diagnostic tests.

N. C. (2400 GEL, individual) – This infant has stiffness in the legs and the neck and delayed development.  CPC helped finance rehabilitation exercises.

M. C. (2700 GEL, individual) – Young girl whom we supported when she had hip surgery in 2024.  CPC helped pay for walking therapies.

Ongoing

Women’s shelter (15,000 GEL, organization) – The Georgian NGO International Association “Women in Business” has a shelter for former women prisoners to provide safe temporary housing, access to basic services, and support for employment and social reintegration.  The facility now requires urgent renovation and equipment upgrades. The project aims to rehabilitate the shelter facility and improve living conditions. Presented and approved at April 22 GBM.

Enkenia Food Bank (4718 GEL, organization) – CPC helped purchase boxes for food donations to help vulnerable including women-led households. We also helped purchase digital scanners to improve food safety, traceability, and accountability through digital monitoring. Enkenia is engaging communities, schools, and retailers in sustainable food donation practices. Project is ongoing and we receive regular reports.

T. D. (individual) – Support cancer survivor patient that needs research for brain aneurysm to continue chemotherapy.  Waiting for hospital information.

N. G. (individual) – She has several medical issues and cannot walk. CPC members visited her home to find it in a very poor state.  She cannot pay for monthly costs for medications and we are working with two pharmacies to get proper invoices. 

Prospective 

AISI (10,000 GEL, organization) – Requesting IWAG support to build an elder care home that will have privately-funded as well as needy patients.

We also have 7 new requests for physical therapy to support young children with cerebral palsy and other developmental delays.  CPC is seeking more information about what other financial resources are available to these parents.
